I havent gotten the album yet but I can tell it will be great! What is the story behind the cd cover art. It's awesome, but I don't understand it. My fave song so far is I Get Off.
My personal musical tastes are surely eclectic, with my two favorite genres being Classical Music and Heavy Metal (I am a classically trained violinist). Having spent almost 15 years now living in Beverly Hills (and spending most of my time in Las Vegas these days), I have had countless opportunities to hear new musical acts. Recently, I was listening to KOMP (92.3) in Las Vegas and heard your new single "I Get Off". Mesmerized by its passionate, powerful, and absolutely pleasantly pungent assault on my ears, the remainder of the music I heard that day seemed only to wane comparatively.
In succession to hearing your music for the first time, I located your website and perused the entirety of your music as posted. Indeed, your music in totality is most excellent and I hope to hear you live, and in addition purchase your CD soon.
It is categorically predictable that you shall enjoy commercial success beyond that which you have thus, and I look forward to hearing more great music from you.
What did I think about the album....? How many eff'd up relationships inspired the songs? haha. As some people have already said, I too bought the CD at the Austin Stimulate this concert and love it!
This has become my favorite band to listen to while at work. I'm a floral designer and I deal with peoples romantic BS love triangles all day and you would be surprised just how many of these songs actually fit in with everybodys lives. (although no one will ever admit to it.) It's always refreshing when a female vocalist doesn't just do cookie cutter love songs. I thank you for that. Also thank you for not trying to imitate Amy Lee. You have your own sound. You don't keep hitting that same annoying sharp note that everyone has tried to do since she hit it big. You guys are so much better. Higher quality of talent and outstanding lyrics.
The entire album ROCKS, haha, but my top 3 are: I Get Off, Better Sorry Then Safe, and Tell Me Where It Hurts....it's really hard tho bc i love them all...
Favorites?
Its Not You; Love/Hate Heartbreak; What Were You Expecting
I bought it at the CT Stimulate This show and I'm really glad I got it. This has replaced Shinedown's Sound Of Madness as my son's CD to listen to after football practice!
Cant wait for the band to come back to CT-I'll make every effort to go again.
Absolutely love the album. I listened to it for a week straight after I bought it and still can't get enough after almost 4 months. It is just a solid rock album. My favority track is between Innocence and Better Sorry Than Safe, but every track is amazing. Can't wait to see you guys again in Atlanta at the Tabernacle next month.
One of the Best albums I have ever heard. You guys are on the horizon of something very big. I cannot wait for more to come. I heard I get off on my local radio station and said hey I need that album, I never imagined it could be as good as it is. I so want to see you guys live. come to jackson , ms!!!!!
The record is the EXTREME rarity in the music world. I know the end result was the eleven "best" of many, many tracks, but even the bonus tracks on the iTUnes version (which I also purchased) are off the hook. It is the ONLY CD I can think of that I own that I never feel the urge to skip a track when listening. It IS that damn good! You should all be very proud of your accomplishments to date, and I am honored to be a fan, to follow you to live shows, and to wait with great anticipation for what lies ahead. The only concern you should have is trying to match the quality of this debut!! It is phenomenal!!
I think there is a HaleStorm on the horizon. It is one big vicious, vamped up beautifully layered out rock n roll enigma.
It was like hearing The Doors first album for the first time. It was like listening to Eddie VanHalen blast out a solo for the first time.
It was like hearing Stevie Ray Vaughn for the first time.
It grabs you that way and holds you. It brings in the spirit of Janis and Grace and Pat Benitar with a sprinkle of the Heart sisters. It captures the persona of all the greats.
My ten year old daughter absolutely loves this album and it's singer. Lzzy, you have given her some strong music with lyrics she shouldn't probably understand until she is 16 but I really like how you make her think.
Your voice range is increadable and Arjay and the rest wrap around you like a finely woven unsomble.
I have yet to understand the lack of radio play for "Bet you wish you had me back!"
Strong guitar balid lics...Heavy drums sets- Very Kieth Moon like. It is just such a great album!
Honestly its one of the 5 best cds ive ever heard...Its a start to finish Phenomonon...Treat yourself and get the digital copy with the bonus tracks you wont be dissapointed!...
If I had to pick a favorite song...which is sooooo tough!...I would have to say 'Innocence" with "Bet You Wish You Had Me Back" being a close second...The cd is a work of art by one of the best bands on this earth....HALESTORM!
hey lzz, arejay, joe, josh!! this album kicks ass! cant wait 2 see love/hate heartbreak video, i know it will be kick ass too!! love 2 all! (rock-n-roll mama) tanja
I absolutley love this album... it hasnt left my CD player since i got it... and i mean that literally... haha... There honesly isnt a song that i dont care for but my very favorite is Innocence... thats my favorite but i do love all the songs... this blows other female lead bands out of the water by far! i will be a life long fan!
LOVE THIS ALBUM! every song on it is a masterpiece! i relate with alot of the songs ...giving the songs and i a connection which makes me love this album and this bands music even more. love the new lyrics to "its not you". but from time to time i still catch myself singing the old lyrics lol but if i had to pic a favorite (which is very very hard) i would pic ....ya know what? no i'm not gonna pick a favorite cuz i'll just end up listing all the songs! lol i'm so proud of this band and all they have accomplished. sure it might have taken them 3/4 years to write this album but just look what they've created! great job guys! see you on the road soon
This album is absolutely MIND BLOWING! I turn it on the surround sound at home when i wake up and i play the album over and over ALL DAY LONG! I cant get enough of Lzzy's phenominal voice. The songs are just absolutely awesome and I never get bored or that feeling when radios overplay a good song and its not awesome anymore. It's just a non stop feeling of HALESTORM ROCKS! 24/7. Way to go Halestorm!
The album is amazing. It's so unique and refreshing, it's like nothing I've heard before. Every song is awesome. My favorites are Dirty Work, What Were You Expecting? and It's Not You
Im a old rocker from the 70"s and this is fresh ,heavy rock and roll.Best and first cd I've bought in a long time. It's like hearing Bon Jovi for the first time,Pure magic! I hope you can pay my speeding ticket I get listening to your album in my car. Can't wait to see you rock live.
I would have to say, if I could only pick one, my fave song on the album is Familiar Taste of Poison, but every single one of them songs are great! from start to finish.
I would have to say I have listened over and over and I never get bored. The album art is very creative, done with style and taste. Lzzy's vocals are equal to singers like Ronnie James Dio, and Pat Benatar. There is a little bit of everything in there for everyone in the pop/rock genre, but maintains an 80's classic edge. The music the band puts out on this album is very motion picture soundtrack worthy as well.
Halestorm's self-titled 2009 album definately ROCKS!!!
The album rocks front to back. I love all the songs, but I'm especially attracted to "It's Not You" (although, I think I like the live, longer version even better than the album version), "What Were You Expecting?", and "Familiar Taste of Poison".
I had to buy the album after hearing "I get off" on the radio. It's hard to put to words what I think about it because it just rocks hard, each song unique. I would have to say my two favorites tracks are "I Get Off" and "Familiar Taste of Poison." I cannot wait to hear them live.
Definitely one of the best albums I've heard in a while. Ever song completely rocks and sound very well approached or thought out. It's Not You and Familiar Taste of Poison are my absolute favorites. Oh and Innocence, too. Oh and... nevermind. The whole thing is fabulous... :D
I havent gotten the album yet but I can tell it will be great! What is the story behind the cd cover art. It's awesome, but I don't understand it. My fave song so far is I Get Off.
I love this album....my son and i listen to it nearly everday cant wait to see them live!!!
