Personally,it is what rock needs right now,a kick ass female singer, finally!! This album has a wonderful assessment of tracks to listen too, full of passion and hardcore awesomeness. Its a great way to end the decade and I look forward to their next album in the future!!!

I think Halestorm's new album is absolutely fantastic!!! It is exceptional in every way. It's been long time since an album had this kind of impact on me. I think the last time I was this impressed with a "new" band's album was GnR's "Appetite for Destruction". Incredible vocals combined with some of the catchiest riffs I've heard in years! I only hope they play somewhere near where I live. I'm already looking forward to their next effort.

I Love The Album. It has been in my CD player for months. Every track is awesome. I think I Bleed should have been on the album. That song is amazing and I can't find it anywhere. I cannot wait for the next album!

This debut album is as strong as most bands' third. Incredible! Other commenters have already said the rest,, especially the previous one.

Great debut album! Lzzy could go down as one of the best female rock vocalists of all time. Lzzy, please, please, pace yourself when on the road/tour.(say NO,and get some rest...you know what I mean) The production of the record is great(not surprising considering the heavy weights producing and mixing).

Halestrom deserves to be huge, and I wish them the best.

Great debut album!! Still trying to decide what my favorite song is. Awesome vocals Lzzy! And Joe, Great job on guitar! Arejay and Josh, you guys rock!! Hope to catch one of your shows if you get to tour Massachusetts. My compliments to the engineer who mixed your CD. They quality of the mix is excellent. As a sound engineer for a local band, I appreciate a good mix. Looking forward to halestorms second album!

WHOLY S***!!!!!!!!!!!!

Lizzy......you have got to make a duet with Myles Kennedy!!!!
The songs are amazing and the singing is undescribeable! It's so refreshing to finally have a rock band that has a lead singer that can actually sing. Man I havent seen you guys live. But I get goosebumps watching videos of your performances. I plan on going to see you guys next month. I cant say enough how amazing the talent that Lizzy has is.

Kick ass album! Love the emotion in every song you can just hear it in Lzzy's voice and the booming of the music. Love Arejay's drumming! Awesome!! Favorite songs are probably...
Familiar Taste of Poison-I want more songs like this!!!
Dirty Work-Best song to rock out to
Nothing to do with love-Love the lyrics
Innocence-Amazing vocals and lyrics
I love I Get Off and It's Not You of course also, but they are so overplayed they rank a little lower on my list! Keep on rocking!!

Personally I love every song on the album, but if I had to choose...A Familiar Taste of Poison, Bet You Wish You Had Me Back, and I Get Off would be my favorites.

All the songs on your album are great! My favorite is What wre you expecting. Its one of those great drivin songs ,you just want to floor it.I just wish it was longer and the way Lizzy cranks it up with the lyric (You must be High)is killer.I thought that was the song title ,anyway your great band ,can't wait to see you guys live.Keep on ROCKIN!

I like every song on the album and its really rare that i can find a cd like that... awesome job guys!! My fav tracks are "bet you wish you had me back" and "Better Sorry Than Safe" and lyrics wise i love "Familiar Taste Of Poison" :-)

halestoned's picture

Gee I dunno; I'll let you know when I hear it.......
hahahaha~yeah right!!!
It is everything I had hoped it would be and more! Well worth the wait!!! I hope you don't make us wait as long for the next one guys and gal!!! The only thing better than listening to this c.d. is hearing it played live! You ALL really shine on stage. You each have so much talent that it takes a stage to allow it to come forth undaunted. I think the album is slightly tamer than your early stuff, but barely. A necessary evil I am sure. But as you always do, you came forth showing that you can compromise without selling out! You stayed true to who you are.....and who we LOVE!! My favorite song is "I Get Off" because the lyrics took me by surprise and really rocks, but I have loved "It's Not You" from the beginning and it's really hard to pick a favorite because they really are ALL awesome songs with some great licks!!
Arejay keeps the beat driving while Joe and Josh take turns wowing me with their riffs and jams, and of course the vocalist is pretty good too. (O; I would have to say my favorite lyrics come from "Familiar Taste Of Poison" though: "The promises were spoiled before they left your lips and...
I breathe you in again just to feel you underneath my skin holding on to.....the sweet escape is always laced with a familiar taste of poison."
Absolutely beautiful! Who can't relate to that?? If not count yourself as a lucky soul.
I look forward to watching your career grow both materially and musically. It's going to be a wild ride y'all so hold on tight and never forget where you came from.......and I ain't talkin' 'bout Pennsylvania!!!
(O;
Peace

Album is great, turning all my friends onto it. i love the son I Get Off, and also You must be stoned, Hell I love all the tracks. Keep Rock'in. Ya'all need to come to Raleigh NC and rock out.
That would be awesome.

Oh and after someone brought up Rock Band, it reminded me of something. I want to play I Get Off on Guitar Hero. That to me is a huge indicator of how awesome a song is. Can i imagine myself rocking out on Guitar Hero to this song? If the answer is yes, then that song does in fact rock. And I Get Off is that song. :D

JimmyWild's picture

My favorite song is I Get Off, cause it was the first song i heard and it puts me in a rockin mood. Being the song that drew me in to liking the band, it has that emotional attachment for me. After spending more time with the CD i think Better Sorry Than Safe is my next favorite. But amazingly i can listen to the entire CD over and over. I mean, that is rare for me. And i even sing along in the car. Granted i sound terrible, but i don't care. So big thumbs up! :)

Couldn't have said it better myself, Brian.

It's just pure MAGIC! Sitting here listening to Sirius Octane, and they are playing lots of Halestorm, including time spent in the RV at the Penn's Landing Stimulate This show. I want a ride in Bouncing Betty!!!!!!

pointblank922's picture

From a vocal perspective I love What Were You Expecting, Better Sorry Than Safe, and Innocence because they showcase just how powerful Lzzy's voice is, even at those ridiculously high ranges in the choruses. Lyrically, Familiar Taste of Poison and I'm Not And Angel are thoughtful and deep. Musically, I Get Off, Dirty Work, and It's Not You get me in that zone where I'm just pure adrenaline. The raw driven power in those songs is so brutal and at the same time the emotion is so present you can taste it. Also, Familiar Taste and Innocence give me the chills every time. The other songs on the album are also amazing, the only one I'm not particularly fond of is Bet U Wish You Had Me back, thought I can't exactly explain why, it just doesn't do it for me I guess. Otherwise, there's not a song on the album I don't like, bonus track Tell Me Where It Hurts included. Overall, the entire album is sickeningly awesome and a very good showing for their major label debut. HALESTORM EFFING RULES!!!!

Shdwlloyd's picture

I'm going with "I'm Not an Angel" as my favorite song on the CD.

The album is awesome. I picked up a copy at the concert in Ridgefield, WA on 8/10. I liked all the songs. My favorite two are Familiar Taste of Poisen and Bet You Wish You Had Me Back. It was tough to chose my favorite two since soo many of them were good. Hope Halestorm comes back to Wa state soon!
