Fantastic! One of the few cds you can listen to all the way thru!

This band seems to have that special something, and know how to blend their music. What's gonna be interesting is their 2nd album, so we can see how they handled this one and how they improve on it.

Halestorm! Your albums are AMAZING! I can't stop listening to your new CD! I loved One and Done, so when you guys came out with more, you fed the addiction!!! "Better Sorry Than Safe" is absolutely killer, the lyrics are so different from what I was expecting to hear. "Innocence" is BADA$$!!! Who knew a topic so haunting could be so awesome? And of course "I Get Off" rocks and has a sweet music video. Love it, love you guys, and can't wait for more! \m/

Anyone have problem with their copy the album? When I try to play the album in my laptop when it gets to the 11th track it either wont play it or plays part of it but wont finish it. Then I skip forward in track and it plays some. Anyone know why this is happening? Can it be the media player used? As the rest my 300 plus cds in my collection dont have a problem playing in my laptop.

There is a special edition of the album? Didnt know this! Is it one those iTunes/Digital specials only? Im not an itunes/etc fan at all. I like to have an album I can hold in my hands not some file on a pc or mp3 player.

Album starts out awesome... I like an album with an uptempo sound to it to start off the record. 'Bet You Wish You Had Me Back' sounds like a track from Lesley Roy/Orianthi. I love the singles. Havent heard a good female rock vocalist in over 20 to 25 yrs. With the talent this band has and the killer vocals lzzy has this is a band that isnt just a hear today gone tommrow. I think we are gonna see them round for many more yrs to come releasing nr 1 albums that are hits internationall. I give the record a 4.5 out of 5.

I just discovered Halestorm a few weeks ago from Youtube by shear luck. All I can say is wow !! These guys are great !!

I havent heard a woman rocking like this in a very long time.Lizzy's voice is mezmerizing, and has so much power yet she can control that power, everyone in the band is very talented, . I see Halestorm being around for a very long time

Well there is only on thing to say about it, welcome back earbanging rock-n-roll. This is the style of music I grew up on and still love to this day. There are so many bands getting it right now. The new sounds aren't really new they are just refreshed and fantastically. Keep Rockin and cant wait to catch the tour when you return from overseas since I missed the Baltimore show

Is there a chance that those of us who can't do iTunes / Amazon-MP3 can buy the "special edition" in hardcopy? I just heard the Rockline 'casts of the tracks, and I would REALLY like to buy copies.

Ok, anyway, my thoughts on the album... there isn't one bad song, just ones that I like the best which happens to be like 6 of them. I can't wait till I can get a tic when you guys are in Balto. again with Shinedown. I hope it's soon.

Your voice brought tears to my eye's Lzzy. Your rendition of "All I Wanna Do Is Make Love To You" is killer. If I didn't know any better I would say that Lzzy is one bad bitch with a flogger and suspension toys!

I think this album is awesome!! one of the BEST cd's ive ever heard!! I love Hslestorm. when i first heard them i was like omg they ROCK!! Lzzy has such a great voice, and one day i hope i can sing like that amd be as great as Halestorm!!

When I first heard this cd all I could think of was these guys can ROCK! That album is one of the best albums I've ever heard! The lyrics are great, the musicality is awesome & Lzzy's voice is amazing! She's the all time best female vocalist in my opinion. I wish you guys all the best! Love ya!

Bad Mofo's picture

one more thing, there are very few women of ROCK who achieve legendary status, but vocally I think Lizzy can reach that level with the likes of Ann Wilson of Heart who is regarded as one of the founding titans of rock women!

I've waited a long time for someone to put the soul back into metal and Halestorm does it bigtime. We've had queens and vixens and the like in the metal in the past, but metal's never had a goddess: Lizzy! Wow, album just rocks! Judas Priest would be proud!

The self-titled album is awesome. Lzzy can belt it out! She took female vocals to a whole new level. Meanwhile, the lyrics are outstanding and the whole group ROCKS. Wish they would put central Indiana on their schedule! Regarding specific tracks, I like every one, but, 'what were you expecting' is a favorite.

Im just a guy that loves music but gave up on rock a few years ago and moved to prog, and prog metal, but than i heard Halestorm and it was good so i picked up the album, and it renewed my interest in rock music once again, Lzzy`s voice is amazing, not many really open up and let it out like this, and the live stuff ive heard around the net sounds great, as a big fan of live music i would love for them to release a full headline show for download or on CD, this band really rocks like the bands in the early 70s and deserve to be heard, keep it heavy and rocking hard, you guys are great..

The album would sound cheesy if it wasn't so excellently done. The lyrics, while being reminiscent of lots of 80s music, are GOOD and well written. It's just a class act. I hope everyone stays tight and the band gets a chance to develop and stretch out with each new album - and I hope there are many more albums!

I love the CD and my favorite song is definitely innocence. If you guys are doing a poll on which song to release that one's got my vote! keep playing love you guys!

One & Done EP is freaking great awesome..much more natural...harder and raw. The Hand and Takes My Life are superb on it. Wish the CD had more like it. It sounds great too, but appears some music executive pushed for a more commercial sound. All 5 songs from the EP are more raw, showcase both the band and singing more. Still, I like it all ;-))

I need More!!!!! I'm proud to say that I cant get enough of your talent. Both myself (41) and my daughter (13) are huge fans. Cant wait to see you guys live.

The album is awesome, hard hitting and edgey but still true to serious rock and roll roots!! "It's not You" and "I Get Off" are great tunes, but don't forget the rest of the record. "We saw them yesterday at the Buzz Bake Sale in West Palm Beach, and "What Were You Expecting" drove the corwd crazy, really cool tune Live! I think that "Bet U Wish U had me Back" should be all over the radio, crossing over to multiple genres, that is a great track! Alot of energy in this album, love it!!

Catherine_2's picture

What isn't there to like about the album? It has a mixture of fast and slow paced songs. All of the instruments and Lizzy's voice all come together and make a great sound. I would have to say that my favorite slow song is Better Sorry Than Safe and my favorite fast song is It's Not You. Btw when are you guys coming to Minnesota or South Dakota?! You show last time was amazing-I would love to see you guys again!

My favorite song this week, "Tell Me Where It Hurts", iTunes bonus track. All three of the bonus tracks simply rake.

I cant get enough of it and I will tell you why, Its been so long since Ive had a female vocalist that made me feel the music to the depths of my soul and Lizzy you do just that I not only hear Halestorms music but I FEEL IT AS WELL ! All of you are talented and Im sure that came from not giving up and many hours of blood ,sweat and tears but it paid off. As for my favorite tracks familar taste of posion - and why is this one top on my list because we all have at one time or another like that taste! I'm Not an Angel yep thats ME 4 SURE ! Its Not You -- I thank you sooooooooo much 4 this song because it was perfect timing and exactly what needed 2 be said to someone . Well now all I want to know is WHEN IS HALESTORM COMING 2 ARIZONA ?

What it isn't great about this Album? I can't believe the variety in the songs, and the old hard-edge 80's esque sound. It may not be as complex as some other bands' recent work, but its only the first CD!
Really, there's something just astonishing about listening to a band that reminds of you of Van Halen with a female vocalist. As a girl raised on bands like Van Halen, and trying to sing like them for most of my life, and then hearing this... These are emotions I can't even express. I love this album, and I love this band.

The only bad part: there's only 11 songs (14 if you count the evil Itunes-album-only version). I can't wait for the next albums!

Skye's picture

I love this ENTIRE album. I could never get sick of listening to it. Awesome! ! I love Better Sorry than Safe! Album is Deep! Loving it! ! Not a complaint at all.. Cant wait for next album.. Need some more songs on the radio!

theworkhorse's picture

My only complaint is that "I Get Off" is the only one the radio plays. "Innocence" and "Bet You Wish" are killer songs that with some airtime would have big followings too.
