Guitar Edge has just published their interview with Lzzy and Joe. (Jasin from Shinedown obviously had the same impression of Halestorm that I did after seeing them play for the first time.) If inserting the link works, go here: http://guitaredge.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=795:w...

When I saw the band on July 6th in Atlanta Lzzy had a Fulltone Clyde Wah and a Fulltone OCD overdrive on her pedal board rather than the MXR stuff referenced in the article. I couldn't see Joe's setup from where I was. Lzzy had a straight up stage tone which I could hear well standing at stage front - sounded like a slightly driven 100 watt head into a slant 4x12 cabinet but not overly loud. Joe's live sound is more trebly and modulated with chorus and echo than I expected from the record. Lzzy seems to provide the low end guitar “chug” and Joe provides the polish and nuance. Both guitars have more bite and midrange live than the record and both Lzzy and Joe can play - that's for sure.
