    EP...So much swearing

I'm one of the most diehard Halestorm fans there are.  My friends and I travel to as many shows as we can.  The appeal of Halestorm for us was that they were a killer band, with an amazing sound, and CLEANish lyrics.  Basically sans swearing.  The type of show you could take anyone to.  I know many of you don't care if she swears or not, and maybe you even like it, but for me, it's a huge disappointment.  Now, with the new EP, Lzzy's beautiful voice belts out ugly words.  I wish they could have kept the reputation of the first CD.  It's what set Halestorm apart, among many other things, and made me love their music and who they were as artists.

Agreed, its just an opinion. But my personal opinion is I loved them then, I love them now! I think that finally, they are writing music that appeals to them, that shows their thoughts, feelings, and emotions over situations they have experienced (as was mentioned several times in interviews regarding the new album). And lets be honest, it's basically 1 song so far that she gets like that on, and I think, nicely done! Who hasn't wanted to tell someone to go F-themselves in a situation/relationship gone bad/wrong? That's basically what I have picked up in "Here's To Us" -- I was at the NYE show when they played it for the first time, and I saw no one walk out because of the language. I think that as much as one song may use language people may not find appropriate, there is always that option to hit "skip" on your ipod or CD player.....to each their own!

Words are tools. You use the appropriate tools to get the job done. If the right tools for the job at hand are "bad" words (which is a ridiculous idea anyway -- it's context and intent that makes a word good or bad, not the word itself. Even the dreaded "N-word"), then those words are the right tools.

K, U, F, and C are all fine unless they're arranged in a specific way. "Duck" and "luck" are perfectly fine. "Messed up" and "screwed up" are all fine. What makes those okay and others so horrible?

Our little Lzzy grew up! get over it!
Her/Their choice of Lyrics is 'Spot On' with the theme of the songs.
"Here's To Us" is an out with you buds drinking song. I thought dropping the F-bomb was justified. compared to most RAP stuff now days, this is tame.

And even though I appreciate your comment, they are not just words. Would you say those in an interview? Talk like that on a date? How about the "n" word? Is that just a word? So your comment has good points, but swearing vs non swearing gives the band an entirely different feel.

@wraith70 I know lots of ROCK bands that don't swear. Nothing for me to get over, just an opinion. So chill.

@Mo-Roadie, I appreciate your comment, good lookin' out.

I understand what you are saying, but something you should understand is they are just words. There is no reason to be mad or get upset because a word. Everyone says them no matter if you want to admit it or not. Language choice should not effect how you feel about how the band preforms. Lzzy has some massive pipes and knows how to use them. Their morals and view points still stand as they were, the band is just opening up into a more blunt manner.
