Summerfest...
[July 7, 2006 - halestorm]
7/6/06Yesterday, we performed at Summerfest in Milwaukee, WI. This was our second time here, and it was so good to be back. Milwaukee kicked off the entire year for us. It was our second major gig as a signed band. We were all green and stupid back then…now we’ve toured almost the entire country…and are still green and stupid. Ha! We like it that way. This approach is much more realistic. We love Milwaukee. There were Halestorm T-shirts EVERYWHERE! Also thanks to Shannon and Sarah for the homemade HS T's! Thanks to our buddies Kyle and Tim for coming to the show, whom we met at our campground the night before. And of course to Joey's family! We love you, can't wait to hang in Oshkosh! We saw Damon and Jessica, which THIS was OUR one-year anniversary knowing these Stormers. Since last Summerfest, Damon and Jessica have traveled everywhere and anywhere in the country (and if we were performing over-seas, I wouldn’t be surprised to see them there) to come and see us… proving that they may be even crazier then we are! We got to play and hour and a half set…which we were not at all prepared for since we’ve been playing usually no more then 30 to 45 minutes on this tour. But, “Hey That’s Rock n’ Roll”, as my dad would say. It was great to just let loose and actually get time to talk to everyone from on stage. I truly appreciate everything this region has given us. If it wasn’t for the support WI and the rest of the Midwest over the past year… Atlantic would’ve never released our ep to stores and put us back out on this last push before our full-length comes out. We love you guys!! Thank you for making our world a circus…and our hearts your humble home! Lzzy
STUCK IN BUCKSNORT OVER MEMORIAL DAY and BEYOND NASHVILLE...all the gory details
[June 23, 2006 - halestorm]

OK, IN TRADITIONAL HALESTORM FASHION, OUR TRIP HOME WAS, OF COURSE, VERY INTERESTING. BROKE DOWN IN BUCKSNORT, TN…ENDED UP GETTING INKED IN NASHVILLE. HERE WE GO…
MAY 28TH ‘06 ON OUR WAY FROM TUCSON, ARIZONA TO YORK, PENNSYLVANIA, WE’RE READY TO SEE OUR LOVED ONES AND SPEND SOME NIGHTS OUT WITH THE LOCALS. SOMETHING STARTS SMELLING FUNNY. NOT JUST THE NORMAL, INDEFINITE “SMELL” OF A WORKING ROCK BAND, BUT SOMETHING ELSE. WE PULL OVER TO SEE BILLOWS OF WHITE SMOKE POURING FROM THE ENGINE OF OUR RV. AUTOMATICALLY ASSUMING THAT IT’S A FIRE, WE RUN OUT IN OUT PAJAMAS ONTO THE SIDE OF THE HIGHWAY, AND CALL 911. A TRUCKER, NAMED DANNY, ALSO PULLED OVER DUE TO ENGINE TROUBLE, RUNS TO OUR RESCUE WITH AN INDUSTRIAL SIZED FIRE EXTINGUISHER. WE FIGURED OUT THAT IT WAS AN ANTIFREEZE LEAK AFTER ALL, BUT THERE WAS STILL SOMETHING WRONG WITH THE ENGINE BECAUSE IT WOULDN’T TURN. THE TOW TRUCK DRIVER THAT WAS HELPING OUR TRUCKER FRIEND DANNY, DECIDED THAT HE WOULD HELP US TOO… SINCE THE TOW TRUCK WE CALLED WAS NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO GET THERE FOR HALF THE NIGHT. THE TOWER’S NAME WAS BILLY; WITH HIM WAS HIS STEP SON AND ANOTHER COLLEAGUE. IT’S A FAMILY AFFAIR. WE CAME TO THE REALIZATION THAT THE ENGINE BLEW UP, AND NOW NEED A NEW ONE.
THEY TOWED US TO AN ABANDONED GAS STATION IN BUCKSNORT TN. YES; THERE IS A “BUCKSNORT” TENNESSEE. AND THE ONLY THING TO BE HAD IN BUCKSNORT, BESIDES THE ABANDONED STATION WE WERE IN, IS AN ADULT BOOKSTORE (WHICH WAS RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET) AND A DINER (WHICH WAS “DOWN-A-WAYS”). AND…THE MOST RECENT EVENT, WE LEARNED FROM BILLY, THAT BUCKSNORT JUST HAPPENED TO BE THE MURDER SITE OF A LOT LIZARD IN THIS VERY GAS STATION. THEY FOUND THE WOMAN’S BODY BEHIND A DUMPSTER ONLY 10 FEET FROM WHERE OUR RV RESTED. OF COURSE BILLY WAS KIND ENOUGH TO INFORM ME THAT “SHE WAS ABOUT MY SIZE”, BEFORE HE WISHED US A GOOD NIGHT AND SAID HE’D BE BACK TOMORROW AFTERNOON.
THE NIGHT WAS ILLUMIATED BY TRUCKER’S LIGHTS ROLLING INTO THE ADULT BOOKSTORE. THEN, OF COURSE, SPENDING ABOUT TEN MINUTES IN OUR BELOVED GAS STATION NEXT TO US, BEFORE GETTING ON THEIR WAY. WE TRIED NOT TO THINK ABOUT WHY.
MAY 29TH, ’06: THE NEXT DAY WAS MEMORIAL DAY. NO ONE IS OPEN, THE TEMPERATURE IS A RECORD HIGH IN BUCKSNORT, AND WE DO NOT HAVE ANY AIR CONDITIONING BECAUSE WE BUSTED THE ENGINE. SO ALL WE COULD DO WAS DRESS IN AS LITTLE AS POSSIBLE, FIND THE SHADIEST SPOT, AND PELT EACHOTHER WITH BB’S. SEEMS LOGICAL TO OUR STANDARDS. THAT’S HOW WE ROLL.
AROUND SIX PM BILLY CAME BACK (POOR GUY HAD TO PUT A HALT ON HIS DAY OFF FOR US). JOINING HIM WAS HIS WIFE BEVERLY, AND THEIR LITTLE TERRIER, PATCHES. THEY HOOKED “STORMIN’ NORMAN”(RV) UP TO THE BIGGEST RIG IN THE COUNTY, AND FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER WE GOT TO RIDE IN A TRUCKERS CAB (THE BACK OF THE WRECKER). THEY TOWED US TO THE CUMMINS DEALER IN NASHVILLE, THAT WOULD NOT BE OPEN ‘TIL MORNING, BUT WE COULD SPEND THE NIGHT ON THE LOT. WE HAD SUPPER AT THE WAFFLE-HOUSE DOWN THE STREET (A WAFFLE-HOUSE THAT I WOULD SOON COME TO DESPISE), THEN SETTLED INTO OUR BUNKS FOR THE NIGHT. AT 3 AM, A HOMELESS GUY WOKE US, BANGING FURIOUSLY AT ALL THE DOORS AND WINDOWS. JOEY WENT TO THE WINDOW TO TELL HIM TO GO AWAY. IN HIS SLEEP INDUCED DELIRIUM, JOEY ENDED UP BUYING INTO THE MAN’S CRAZY STORY ABOUT HOW HIS TRUCK WAS IN THE SHOP HERE AT CUMMIN’S AND HE WAS 7 DOLLARS SHORT. JUST SO WE COULD SHUT HIM UP, THE HOMELESS GUY ENDED UP WITH OUR 7 DOLLARS (THOUGH STILL ASKING FOR MORE), AND WENT AWAY.
MAY 30TH, ’06: THE NEXT MORNING, WE PULLED INTO THE DEALER, AND DECIDED TO CHECK INTO ONE OF THE HOTELS SPECKLED AROUND THE LOT. SETTLED INTO A HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS, WE ORDERED “STEAK OUT” FOR LUNCH, JOSH AND ROB FINISHED A CASE OF CORONA, BETH AND I EXPERIMENTED WITH CITRUS TEQUILA, WE WATCHED SPIDER MAN 2, AND JOE WENT TO BED EARLY.
MAY 31ST, ’06: JOSH AND ROB DECIDED TO RENT A CAR, AND MAKE THE TREK HOME THEMSELVES. ROB, HAVING HIS OWN LIFE BESIDES THE ONE THAT HE’S STUCK IN WITH US FOR THE NEXT FEW WEEKS. AND JOSH, SERVING AS DELIVERY BOY FOR ALL OF US, RETRIEVING HIS BASS AMP AND A MULTITUDE OF OTHER THINGS THAT WE WOULD’VE GOTTEN IF WE WERE ABLE TO MAKE IT HOME. SO, AFTER OUR CONTINENTAL BREAKFAST, CONSISTING OF: “SOMETHING THAT LOOKED LIKE BACON”, A FOLDED, YELLOW, RUBBERY CHEESE OMLETTE, SOME POPPY SEED MUFFINS, “A” DANISH, AND ASSORTED FRUIT (I ATE NONE OF THIS EXCEPT THEIR EXCELLENT COFFEE, A BANANA, AND A POPPY SEED MUFFIN…ALL OF WHICH WERE EDIBLE), WE SAID OUR GOOD-BYES TO JOSH AND ROB.
DECIDING NOT TO WASTE MONEY ON A HOLIDAY INN, BECAUSE WE WERE GOING TO BE HERE FOR AT LEAST A WEEK, THE REST OF US MOVED TO A MUCH CHEAPER HOTEL UP THE STREET CALLED THE HILLTOP INN. THE PLACE WAS FALLING APART. THIS “USED-TO –BE-RAMADA”, HAD RUSTED OUT STAIRCASES, A POOL THAT WAS NOT OPENING UNTIL NEXT WEEK, AND STRANGE CIGARETTE BURNS ON THE BEDS. BUT HEY, WE CAN TAKE IT. THE FOUR OF US WALKED TO THE WAFFLE –HOUSE FOR LUNCH AND MADE PLANS TO HOP A CAB TO DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE. WE MADE THE 5MILE STRETCH FROM THE HOTEL TO BROADWAY, OVER PAID THE CAB DRIVER, AND WALKED INTO ANOTHER PLANET. OUR FIRST NIGHT IN DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE IN OVER TWO YEARS, WE WENT INTO A PLACE CALL BB KING’S, AND SAW A PRETTY COOL COVER BAND CALLED MAGNOLIA. WE MET THE BARTENTER (WHO I THINK HAD AN EYE FOR BETH). JOEY AND I HAD JOHNNY WALKER ON THE ROCKS, BETH HAD A SPECIAL DRINK, THE BAR KEEP’S OWN CONCOCTION CALLED A BLONDIE WHICH IS SIMILAR TO A WHITE RUSSIAN BUT WITH A TOUCH OF BUTTERSCOTCH AND VANILLA VODKA, AND AREJAY HAD A CHERRY COKE. WE ORDERED SOME APPETIZERS AND THEN LEFT SEEKING MORE. WE SAW A KARAOKE BAR, WENT IN, SAT DOWN AND DECIDED TO STAY THERE AND SING. I ENDED UP SINGING SOME HEART, ”MAKE LOVE”, AND JANIS, “PIECE OF MY HEART”. JOE SANG A BILL WITHERS SONG, “LOVELY DAY”. AREJAY GOT UP AND SANG SOME DIO, “RAINBOW IN THE DARK”, WE ENDED UP JOINING HIM, ME PLAYING AIR GUITAR, AND JOEY PLAYING AIR DRUMS. IT WAS A GREAT NIGHT!
JUNE 1ST,’06: THIS WAS PRETTY MUCH A LOST DAY. WE HUNG AROUND BY THE CLOSED POOL, JOEY AND I GOT BEEPED AT ALONG THE SIDE OF THE ROAD BY PASSERS-BY (DAMN LONG HAIRS). REMEMBER WHEN I WAS TALKING ABOUT THE “RUSTED OUT STAIR CASES”? WELL, SINCE THE HOTEL OWNERS DID NOT BLOCK IT OFF, A SWEET OLDER MAN ENDED UP FALLING THROUGH A STAIR ON HIS WAY DOWN, AND CUT HIS LEG REALLY DEEP. THE HOTEL HAD NO FIRST AID KIT WHAT-SO-EVER, SO THE POOR MAN HAD TO USE POOL TOWELS TO STOP THE BLEEDING. THEY CALLED AN ABULANCE AND OFF HE WENT. A FRIEND OF HIS SPENT SOME TIME TAKING PICTURES, IT SEEMED TO BE A LAWSUIT IN THE MAKING. WITH THE EXCITEMENT OVER, JOEY, BETH, AREJAY AND I DECIDED TO ORDER PIZZA… WHICH WAS A WHOLE 2-HOUR DEAL. THE DUDE ON THE PHONE EITHER COULDN’T HEAR US, OR WAS A LITTLE DENSE. WE ENDED UP GOING TO THE WAFFLE HOUSE. HA!
JUNE 2ND,’ ’06: IT WAS EITHER THE NASHVILLE HEAT, BOREDOM, OR PURE CURIOUSITY…FOR WHAT EVER REASON, WE DECIDED IT WAS TIME TO GET INKED. WE WENT DOWNTOWN TO A SELF- PROCLAIMED “NATIONALLY FAMOUS” TATTOO PARLOR. BILLY JOE’S. PART OF ITS CLAIM TO FAME WAS THE FACT THAT IT IS CHRISTIAN OWNED AND OPERATED. A FAMILY TYPE ATMOSPHERE, NO SWEARING ALLOWED. THIS WAS A RULE QUICKLY BROKEN AT THE FIRST NEEDLE PRICK. HA! IT WAS A NICE, AND VERY INTERESTING VIBE…SO WE DECIDED TO STAY. BETH, JOEY AND I DECIDED TO GO FOR IT. WE SIGNED THE PAPERS AND WERE ASSIGNED TO OUR TATTOO ARTISTS. AREJAY WANTED TO WAIT FOR JOSH TO GET BACK ON WEDNESDAY. WE ALL, FINALLY GOT OUR LOGO BRANDED ON US…IT’S ABOUT TIME, SINCE THERE ARE SO MANY OF YOU SPECKLED ACROSS THE U.S. WITH IT TATTED. I WANTED TO GET MINE IN-BETWEEN MY SHOULDER BLADES. IT IS VERY SIMPLE. DARK PURPLE OUTLINE FILLED IN WHITE. IT DIDN’T HURT SO MUCH AS IT WAS ANNOYING AT A CERTAIN POINT. IT WAS SUCH A RELEASE THOUGH WHEN HE’D STOP AND SPRAY WATER ON MY BACK. FELT SO GOOD. JOEY GOT HIS ON HIS ON HIS FOREARM. IT IS EMERALD GREEN, WITH A DARK GREEN OUTLINE. BETH WAS THE MOST DARING. SHE GOT IT ABOUT AN INCH LARGER THAN OURS, IN RED WITH BLACK OUTLINE. THE CLINCHER WAS THAT SHE GOT ALL FOUR OF OUR NAMES ON IT TOO. IT REALLY LOOKS GOOD. AREJAY, IN THE MEANTIME WAS IN THE BACK ROOM WITH ONE OF THE CHICKS………………………………………………………………………………………………….GETTING HIS TONGUE PIERCED (NO, LITERALLY). HA.
AFTER WE WERE ALL DONE, WE WENT LOOKING FOR FOOD. ROGER, ONE OF THE EMPLOYEES OF THE KARAOKE BAR, CALLED UP THE OWNER OF A RESTAURANT (MATT) DOWN THE STREET THAT HE FREQUENTED, AND GOT US A DISCOUNT LUNCH. IT WAS A QUAINT RESTAURANT WITH A LIVE ACOUSTIC ACT CALLED “PAST PERFECT”. AMAZING FOOD. AND AN AMAZING ACOUSTIC, BLUESY, ROCKY TYPE ACT WITH A FEMALE SINGER. AFTER DINNER WE THANKED MATT FOR THE DISCOUNT, AND HEADED BACK TO THE KARAOKE BAR. ROGER GREETED US AND INTRODUCED US TO SOME FRIENDS OF HIS WHO LET US SIT WITH THEM (THE PLACE WAS PACKED). THEY WERE MICHELLE AND SCOTT. I ENDED UP SINGING SOME ZEP, “BLACK DOG” OF COURSE, AND SOME ACDC, “SHOOK ME”. WE GOT WASTED WITH MICHELLE AND SCOTT, AND MET A REALLY CRAZY OLD MAN IN A PINK COWBOY HAT, THAT WE TALKED TO ALL NIGHT AND DIDN’T UNDERTAND A WORD HE SAID. HE WAS A SWEET MAN THOUGH. I WAS INVITED TO TWO-STEP WITH A REAL COWBOY NAMED COLT. YES, HIS NAME WAS COLT. HE HAD TO TEACH ME…BECAUSE I’M NOT A COWGIRL. HE DANCED WITH BETHY TOO. SHE CAN REALLY CUT A RUG! JOE DIDN’T GET TO DANCE WITH COLT, AND I THINK HE FELT A LITTLE LEFT OUT. HA.
JUNE 3RD, ’06: WE PARTIED HARD LAST NIGHT, SO TODAY WAS A BIT FUZZY. AGAIN, BREAKFAST AT THE WAFFLE HOUSE (I USED TO CRAVE WAFFLES…NOW I DON’T WANT TO SEE ONE AGAIN). SINCE WE WERE REGULARS AT THIS TIME, WE GOT TO SHOW OFF OUR NEW TATTOO’S TO THE SERVERS WHO ALL NOW KNOW US BY NAME.
JUNE 4TH, ’06: WE WENT TO A GUITAR SHOP DOWNTOWN…OF COURSE.
JUNE 5TH, ’06: JOSH AND ROB GOT BACK FROM THEIR MINI-VACATION AND OUR RV REPAIRS WE’RE FINISHED!!! YAY! BRAND NEW ENGINE FOR US!!
JUNE 6TH, ’06: JOSH AN AREJAY GOT THEIR TAT’S TODAY…AND CONTRARY TO THE BETS WE ALL HAD GOING…JOSH DID NOT WINE LIKE A LITTLE GIRL! JOSH GOT HIS ON HIS SIDE IN-BETWEEN HIS RIBS AND HIPS, A BEAUTIFUL FADE FROM RED TO ORANGE TI YELLOW.
AREJAY DREW HIS OWN DESIGN OF THE “SWIRLY” AND GOT IT DONE IN A SLATE GRAY/BLUE COLOR ON HIS SHOULDER. THEN, IT WAS TIME TO HIT THE ROAD AND HEAD TO ROCKSTOCK IN CEDAR RAPIDS IOWA!!!

Just you and me
[May 30, 2006 - halestorm]
I don’t entirely know why, but I am compelled to express how much I truly appreciate all of your support. We are repeatedly asked about our “message”, what do we “stand for”. Well, I thought I’d best answer it simply. We stand for all of you as part of our family, as well as our blood. We are not trying to take over the world, be are not trying to force anything down anyone’s throats. We’re not the kids of cool, trying to change the face of style. All we are are ourselves. All we want is to keep moving forward. We promise to keep it real, and never forget just who and what we are. What we REALLY are. Shoo away any glorified images of what we’d look like with a little glitter. Because at some point, you gotta wash the freakin’ cake make-up off and look at yourself in the mirror. I want to always be able to recognize myself, and not look any different barefaced in the mirror, then I do to all of you. I believe in Honesty. I love you all… I’m so proud be a part of a big family…to have my support system…everyone needs to be surrounded by people that love them, and believe in them. I’m so glad that you are mine, that I am lucky enough to have you with me. Welcome to the journey, my brothers and sisters, there is no destination…only the journey. Let’s have a ball!Yours,Lzzy

[May 20, 2006 - halestorm]
Ok - I Had - HAD to write another entry to express what an amazing time we had in Washington DC on April 20th! It was crazy to play the 9:30 club after seeing so many bands on that stage (always a brides-maid, never a bride). Thank you so much for singing along. Thank you to the darling Andrea for the necklace (I've now decided that on stage I will only wear jewelry or trinkets that my peoples have given me, or that I have made myself, it's so much more satisfying then something I would purchase.). A big HEY to all of Joey's high school and college friends, we love you all. Emmy and the gang!!! LOVE YOU. Justin (Jones), you are incredible! Love the new CD! Hope to share the stage with you sometime. Our dear Andrew, thank you for hanging most the night with us. We always enjoy your company. To the entire staff of 9:30 and our new Stormers (fans) from that night…thank you for welcoming us with open arms into your hometown. To our Darling TULSA! We did not expect how much love you had brought us that night! GEEZ! You made us feel as if we were in our own hometown. We sang together…sweat together...and rocked Cain’s TOGETHER! You all bring it hard, and created our rock worlds with your screams (a world built on screams at a rock concert; interesting concept). Love you all. Thank you for my Paper Rose. Thank you for the phone number thrown on stage. I appreciate it so much. The next morning we were at the Cummin's Repair spot in Omaha, Nebraska. We needed a new alternator because we had temporarily replaced the broken one with a smaller size, and it wasn’t going to last much longer...long story. BUT- I want to send a shout out to Denny, Jeff, Jim, Dustin and all of the grease monkeys (great guys) at Cummin’s that were up 6am to help us get back on the road. Love you boys! Now, hence the 6am, I was delirious all day... 6am is an ungodly hour of the morning for the profession I'm in. It should be outlawed! Ahem... yes, delirious is a good word. We had a wonderful time playing for ya'll in Sioux Falls. (Speaking of Cummin's dealers.... We also had a chance to hang out with Mark Phillips and Dan who came to the show from the dealership in Sioux Falls, SD. We're getting to know these Cummin's professionals almost intimately.) Thank you for accepting us into you town and to all of you who stayed to chat! Next Stop. Fargo, ND! Fargo was amazing! Loving the Dakota's! Civic Auditorium was a great room (though I got lost on a trip to the bathroom once). There was also a phantom who kept locking us out of our dressing room. Thank you to all of you for hangin’ out with us at the end of night…and for all the support of our cd! You made our first trip a memorable one- We will be back soon- and with a full length! Billings, MT. MONTANA- how beautiful…surrounded by mountains- performing in a space ship. Ha. The 12th planet, was a great room, reminiscent of 2030. Thank you so much for accepting us with open arms. MONTANA rocks! Jeremy, thank you for your generosity!!! I saw a chick in the audience that looked like a girl I knew in middle school, but I never saw her at the signing table, if there was a Jessica Double in the house...Hello, how are you?! Great Falls!!! Our second night in Montana…We feel like real mountain men(and woman)(HA)…Thank you to "Montana Shelly" for the hospitality….and to the entire staff of men and women…for a great two nights in a row. OK…we have NEVER gotten this kind of response from the first note on!!! YOU ALL ARE CRAZY!!!!!! WE LOVE YOU. I started the set off Acapella, with "It’s Not You" - which I ended up dragging out abnormally because of the screams. As soon as the band came in, three mosh pits broke out in front of us. Thank you for all of your energy- we are so humbled by you all. Montana is hungry for Rock...and came to gorge. It was a shame to hear from most of you that this was your first concert. As much as it was an honor for us to be a part of your first rock experience, It was awful that nobody tours through here any more! WE promise to be back soon… and continue to visit! You made a couple of Pennsylvanians feel right at home! Thank you, and much respect. Spokane, WA. Ah, Washington. Spokane is a beautiful town… Thank you boys and girls for the welcome. Especially all the kids I met out back who got thrown out for dealin' the rock! You kiddies were amazing. It was packed (even for us)! Busted sculls everywhere! To the chica that got my belt…where it in good health my dear…I make a lot of crazy things like that, so it's an original. Thank you all for your patience in line- we were so humbled by your support of an opener like us! Thank you to Allie…good luck with your band, we started Halestorm when I was your age… so it IS possible! Don’t give up! Thank you to Brandi for all your help over our stay in Washington. Hope to see you all again! SEATTLE, WA. SO beautiful. I got to spend some time to walk the streets and Market Place here. I met an illusionist named Brian, Hi Brian! Saw some street side musicians, including a dude who sung all Led Zep songs! Right next to the Olympic Mountains (which are gorgeous at sunset by-the-way), we couldn’t have prayed for better weather, and a nicer town. Inside the ShowBox, probably an old theater, thank you so much for the off-stage response! The mosh pit was pumpin’! You all are killer!!! Thank you to Bryce and Amber for the Tequila shots! I plan to live in Seattle at some point in my life…but I promise that we will be back sooner than that!! Thank you so much! Next up...Portland OR (and the Washington folks warned us about your crazy ways...) I need to thank everyone who showed up early to the show in Portland. We later found out that the tix had advertised the show starting at 8…but we were on at 7:30. HA! We had a killer time as always with all you early birds. Thank you all for hanging with us after the set. For all the tequila and beer (I had the next day off). Fat Tire rules! Ah yes…and a new milestone for the Shinedown boys…you got to see me toasted. And thanks to my buddy Jasin (again), I felt like "burnt toast" in the morning! Love you boys. Freddy…we have a surprise for you. Thank you for making' my 'Paul sing again! I will see you all on the next page. Love always in Rock n" Roll, Lzzy
[May 8, 2006 - halestorm]
Hello To All! It's Lzzy again. Thought I'd give you an update on all the happenings. This one's gonna be a doosie... We are only ankle deep into the Equinox tour and are loving every craze-filled moment. First I'd like to thank "THAT ROB" sound guy for Jealousy Curve (Philly sensations, and all-round great boys). He is doing sound for us, and has the privilege of being our "personal entertainer on off days". Our Friends Mercy Fall, amazing boys under our label and A&R...and partners in the crime of Rock n' Roll. Of course, our 3rd tour in with Shinedown, we are still learning the rockstar-ropes, and I have yet to go meet the devil with Jasin. Those boys work their asses off (nice asses btw). This is our first tour with Trapt. We've done a few one-offs with them, and we feel so privileged to be on the same stage with such nice dudes. First show was in Johnstown PA. It was so wonderful to see some old friends from the Johnstown/Altoona/State College areas. This used to be an old stomping ground of sorts for us. I remember playing clubs here when I was 16. It was great to hang with the "The Professor" Jim Price from Q94 (Altoona)"the classic rock station". We were reminiscing about good times. He has been a part of the Halestorm family from the beginning, and has done so much good for so many bands. Keepin' the scene alive Jim...thank you for all your support and genuine love over the years! We'll have to come up and do another "in studio" soon! Also, lovely to see all our friends from the Cellar.Brandon and the boys from Struthers! And we give a big XO to all our Sorority gals. Joe Josh and Arejay still want to join the sisterhood! On to Baltimore, MD! Always a second home to the 'Storm, we we're greeted by you all with open arms...arms that we've missed so much being away on tour!! The night before...I had the very sexy boys of Mercy fall, at the band house for dinner and slumber party...and today was the first night they were joining the Equinox tour. Thank you so much to the "mystery girl" who gave me the sparkle-y diamond bracelet...I much appreciate it! We had some veteran stormers in the house. Enter Robin, Mackenzie and Erica!! They have been stormers well over 5 years now...How lovely to see you all! How you've grown! You are in our hearts always. Ah yes, and the incredulous Andrew and Robert. We love you both to death!! It was painful that now we won't see you for a few months! Our buddy from PRS, Grover was in attendance, Thank you so much to Grover and Winn for the guitars...they are very "LOVED" from the road. Also, last but not least, 98 Rock. Thank you for the love and support of a couple kids!! We love you all so much. You support when you don't even have to. And that means a lot to this scene, and all we're trying to do! Raleigh, NC! Fried Chicken, Sweaty Mosh Pits, Disco Rodeo, short skirts...we love you guys!!! Thank you to JJ from 96 Rock for all your smiles! Hope to see you again soon! And, again to the lighting dudes for givin' our set some color!! Good luck on your tour with Floetry! Oh yes, to all our friends from Myrtle Beach! So great to see you all! In particular, there is a young group you should all check our called K'dence...two women with a lot of soul and beautiful songs. We first met them in Myrtle Beach, SC.and tonight in Raleigh they gave us a demo. Athens, Georgia. K'dence was in attendance along with many stormers from the HOUSE O' Blues in Myrtle Beach, SC. Regardless of the fact that our set time got moved to 7:30 when the tix stated that doors didn't open 'til 9pm.There were kids singing our songs back to us...made our night!!! Ok, behind the scenes moment...K'dence, as I said, are an amazing young band.. They had given us their demo the night before...Joey and I listened to it and literally fell off our chairs. Such power for two lovely, sweet women who aren't even old enough to drink! Catch up with them on their myspace page http://www.myspace.com/kdence Ah Yes. Zephyr Hills FL, LIVESTOCK! We are so glad we got to perform at LIVESTOCK 15, especially since it was sadly, the last of them. We got to spend some time with our manager, Bill McGathy...who had 6 of his bands at Livestock this year. Maybe we need a McGathy FEST! Ha! Lovely to hang out with our baby girl Ali, our regional Radio Rep for Atlantic. Had many o' rum&cokes with her buddies from DC 101 and the fabulous Mr. White from Capitol Records. All of the bands were crazy...Of course Mercy fall, the outstandingly heavy Black Stone Cherry, Egypt Central, Saliva, Tantric, Hybrid, and our good friends from Revelation Theory. I want to thank our wonderful fan that gave me the African necklace (which is now around my neck for the rest of the tour), and all the lovely ladies and gents in the front row who adorned me with mardi gras beads! The group who added us to their homemade Livestock banner, you made our night. All of you were amazing! We could not have asked for a better bunch of Floridians!! OK... now... our dear RV, which we lovingly call Stormin' Norman, was having some trouble. A "cold" of sorts. We ended up breaking down on an Off ramp in Mississippi, waiting 5 hours for a tow truck which then proceed to tow us just across the street to a Flying J truck stop...then waiting a full 24 hours for a tow truck to come back to take us to Kennedy Engine repairs. Needless to say, we all missed you very much in New Orleans. And could not make the show. When the tow truck dude showed up, he explained that could take our RV, and how ever many could fit in his truck. But, had to leave our trailer behind, and return for it after we dropped off Norman. So, Joe and Josh hopped in with the Tow-man (who looked uncannily like Larry The Cable Guy), Arejay, Rob and I hopped a cab, with a cab driver who is a retired road musician, but still let's the "LED" out every chance he gets; and Bethy stayed behind to watch the trailer. We got to Kennedy Engine Repair, and let me tell you... these people taught us so much in the way of southern hospitality. Here we are, these people have lost so much, in fact...the Travel Trailer dealer to the left of Kennedy was offered out to people who have lost their homes. But, these people were concerned about us. We ended up spending the night; and Melanie (the head woman), gave us her collection of DVD's, because she was concerned about us having something to do. A Trucker waiting in the shop went to McDonalds and got us breakfast. I mean, seriously, the worst that was going to happen to us is that maybe we'd have to downgrade to a van. For these people...they already have so much on their plates because of the hurricane damage, why should they care so much about a bunch of out-of-towners like us?? Two nice southern boys, John and Billy, worked hard on good ole Norman. We finally figured out that it was the alternator (which we carry a spare because of past complications). They got us set. And we distributed cds and t-shirts to everyone. These people are so giving. They made me thankful for what I have, and also jealous of their disposition...more people should live their way. We apologize to no end to everyone in New Orleans and Baton Rouge! We promise that we will make it back your way very soon! On to Columbia, MO! JOSH's BIRTHDAY!!!The Blue Note is an intimate venue with a lot of crazy mf-er's who know what rock is. We had a blast with all of you. We saw so many of you on Sno-Core... thank you for coming back! I wanna thank Chris (The band is with me) for the aura, Brittany for making my night, we will sing together someday, Kyle, for all your hospitality and showing us around your city... And to our crazy "Berf"-Day chicas (thank you for the notes left on our door. That night I got to meet the devil with my good friend Jasin from Shindown.and the devil was named Cuervo. In true spirit, for Josh's birthday, we all indulged in Tequila, Vodka and a splash of Jack... but for me it was mainly Tequila. Poor Jasin, not usually a Cuervo man, humored my taste, and together we saw the face of a goat-headed demon. I made it out barely alive; and I heard today that Jasin spent the next day on the couch. Kick it baby! Thank you darlin'. So that concludes this rant...We are currently in Tulsa OK at a KOA campground. The boys are across the street at a casino, speckled with welts from their air-soft BB battles (yes, we got guns at Walmart.wanna fight about it?) Ha. Love to you all. See you on the next Page!!!Lzzy Hale
End of the Winterfesh SNO-CORE tour
[March 11, 2006 - halestorm]
The end of the WINTERFRESH SNO-CORE TOUR! This tour has been the highlight of my years in this band. There are not enough words to express how much I appreciate our new brothers in Seether…as well as Shinedown, Flyleaf, and Boy Hits Car. As you all may know, the only reason that we were given a chance to be on Sno-Core, is because of Shaun Morgan (Seether). Shaun, Pat, Dale and John are old-souls. They still have a sense of unity, family and rock n’ roll, in a business that has long forgotten that concept. Ah, yes, the SEETHER CREW: Enter: Howie (thank you for being our mentor, and vodka buddy), Scotty, (we have so much respect for you darlin’, thank you for keeping our heads together on stage…and teaching me the art of “hair neglecting”.), Eugene…your “self” is forever imprinted on our RV wall…thank you for your kinship, and big brother love)Monk, (Thank you for making me sound beautiful in the monitors...you silly monkey)Tiff,(Chica! Love!)Panda, (Thank you for watching over us man!)Ah yes, and Freddy,(Thank you for sharing a bottle of Tarantula, for treating my guitar like it was your own child, and for makin’ me feel so welcome in your world! Hello Stormers and Stormettes…Gold and Silver…
[January 27, 2006 - halestorm]
We have just rocked through almost all of Texas; Lubbock, Amarillo, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio. These are the first 5 dates of the Winterfresh Sno-Core Tour. What an amazing stretch! We love Texas! We must issue A BIG Thank You to all of the Texans for welcoming us with open arms! It means the world to us! So, many of you have heard about the BOOD FEST in Dallas. Yes, I cut myself during our set on my guitar…some of you back home in PA know that this happens to me from time to time. BUT, nothing compares to this one! I must’ve hit a vain or somethin’. There was a puddle on the floor of the stage, blood all over my boots, pants, arm, mic stand, set list, the first two rows of the audience, security guards…not to mention my white guitar was now a deep red. All I can say is, everything is BIGGER in Texas!!My hand is fine, and is closing up nicely to leave a beautiful scar to remind me of our first tour in Texas! Thanks ya’ll! SEETHER, SHINEDOWN and FLYLEAF… it is such an honor to share the stage with such amazing bands. This is our first meeting with Flyleaf, a band that’s breaking out of Temple Texas. They are wonderful people, and Lacey, the lead vocalist, one of the best voices I’ve heard. Love ya girl! I’m joining SEETHER on stage for their song “Broken” every night. Each time it gets better and better. Thank you to all of the SEETHER fans for all the support! It is a great honor! SHINEDOWN blows my socks off every night! We were touring with them before the holidays, and I didn’t think they could get any better. I was wrong! They are tight as a Nat’s you-know-what and Brent is hitting notes I didn’t think were humanly possible! I can’t say enough…how much I enjoy performing with these bands!! All four of us are one family, a brotherhood touring the country. I wake up with a smile everyday. We are heading to Wichita, Kansas next. We’ll keep you all updated on the “happenings”. We miss all of you at home… we wish we could take you all with us!! Love, Blood and Rock n’ Roll to all,LzzyP.S. Joe and Gina thank you for being our RockThe Hottinger’s: We’ll see you in FLThe Smiths…Love and Hugs…and Cosmo’sWE MISS YOU ALL
2006!!!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!
The Aughts are more than half over!!! Time flies!!! It was just the millenium yesterday!! What a year last year was!! It was in January last year we first met Leigh at Atlantic Records. Six months after that we sign to said label. Now we're gear up for our first cross country tour!!! !!?!???!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Insanity!
So many of my dreams came true this past year. Thanks to everyone who helped make that possible. We've met some really amazing folks the past 12 months. Too many to thank individually. So this is a blanket "Thank You". Hopefully that will suffice.

What a way to bring in the new year. Last night was out of control!! I'm surprised the government hasn't made having that much fun illegal! There is nothing like a hometown show. You Yorkians sure do know how to show us a good time. Thank you for letting us try out some new songs on you. They both seemed to go over really well. We're definitely going to incorporate them into our set for snocore. Hopefully we'll have a few surprises in store for the snocore shows.

I'm selling some of my gear. A 1976 USA Fender Stratocaster and a Mesa Boogie Rectoverb 50 Watt Combo amp. If you want more information check out the message board or email me at halestorm@halestorm.org.

Thanks again to everyone who came out last night and brought in their new year with us. Til next time,
Joe

P.S. Go out and buy the self-titled cd by 'Old Crow Medicine Show'. Its good old fashioned Bluegrass goodness. Its a current Halestorm Favorite!

Christmas in NYC
[December 24, 2005 - halestorm]
Hello Everyone...Lzzy Here! Happy Halestorm Holidays!!! As a tradition going on 8 years now, my family and I spend Christmas Eve and Day in New York City. For the first time, we've decided to come a day early. YAY, 3 Days in The Big Apple! It is enchanting! For a city that never sleeps, it is always eerily quiet and barren on Christmas morning. Can't wait to wake up around 5am Christmas morning and walk the lonely (and hopefully newly 'snowed') streets. I Believe the thing I love most about Christmas, is that for only one season a year...everyone in the world has a common goal...a common message. What a beautiful thing to be a part of! I got to hang out with our main man Leigh Lust, our lovely A&R rep, and his friend Jimmy Archey from "First Act" guitars. I know what you are thinking...yes...the very same company that makes the Walmart kiddie guitars you see as you stand in the check out aisle. They make some absolutely amazing, handcrafted guitars for us big boys and girls! There is a huge line of custom made, and limited edition axes owned by reknowned players such as Aerosmith, Franz Ferdinand, Ministry, SOAD etc. I got jam in the show room, and there is talk of a custom Lzzy Halestorm guitar. Happy Holidays to all of you!!! See most of you on New Years Eve at the Tourist Inn in York, Pa!! Don't forget your tix! Love you all!Lzzy
The Word: According to Jose
[December 22, 2005 - halestorm]
Whats up Storm Chasers (thanks tony),I hope everyone is doing great and having a great time. I'm hanging out down in Florida for Christmas. I like Florida. Florida likes me. I can't wait for the new year. SNOCORE baby!!! We had two rehearsals before we took off for Christmas, right after the Detroit show. They were great, we have two new songs we're going to hopefully debut at the New Years show. (Tickets are still available.....hehehe..) Speaking of Detroit....HOLY SHIKAKA!!!! There is a reason its called "Detroit: Rock City" and not "Detroit: Stand and Watch a Rock Show With Our Arms Crossed City". That was one of the most fun, if not the most fun, show I personally have ever played. It was pandemonium from the first note. Thats how a rock show should go, DAMNIT!!! Everyone everywhere, go to a rock show in Detroit, watch and learn. Thats how you ROCK! This is not to say everywhere else does not rock.... I've just never seen another city that rocks that hard. More dates for Sno-Core are up on our MySpace site. Check those out. By now hopfully everyone has seen the video on our Media Page. Awesome. Rumor has it.... "One and Done" our new Live EP will be available on ITUNES at somepoint coming up, so keep an eye on that. Well, I want to thank everyone that was so awesome to us on the second leg of the Shinedown/Silvertide tour. For some reason, we were treated like kings everywhere we went. The crews in both bands are top notch. We're going to miss Silvertide on Snocore. We get to spend another three months with the Shinedown gang though. Thanks Roy, Guy, Speedy Gonzalez, Panda, Chris, Bob, Scotty Rock, Frankie, and Three. You all rule. Sorry we didn't let anyone know that Detroit was our last night of the tour, I wish we could have come to the DC show, I've always wanted to play the 9:30 Club, and a great Singer/Songwriter friend of mine (Justin Jones) works there. So, that was a bummer for me especially. Last but not the least bit least. A "You Rule" thank you to Mikey and the fam for the incredible meal they made us in Detroit. Great enchiladas, lasagna, pies, green beans, corn, etc... Just amazing. Way to take away the shitty road food blues. Happy Holidays to Everybody!!!Joe

WE'RE ALL IN THIS THING TOGETHER
[December 5, 2005 - halestorm]
Hello, Lzzy here... Season's greetings and salutations to you all! Well, we're near the end of the year and near the end of our tour with Shinedown and Silvertide! It's been such a great run! I feel like a little sister surrounded by many big brothers! Shinedown, such amazing guys. Barry, Jasin, Brent and Zach Myers. Brad and his wife are having a baby boy, maybe as we speak, Zach is temping for him on this trip. It is wonderful to see Zach; I've known him since I was 15 while we were both gigging around the Harrisburg scene. An already amazing guitarist, he more than holds his own on the bass! And of course, Silvertide, our brothers of PA! It's been a pleasure to share the stage with these guys. They've been our comrades for years; it's so nice to meet them on "the other side". Anyway, on to YOU GUYS! We've got some crazy tattooed Stormers from all over the country that will be displayed shortly on the site. We feel so honored to be immortalized not just "in" but also "ON" you all! It means so much to us. Also, we have our Live EP "ONE AND DONE" coming out this week. We know, we know.... FINALLY! Thank you so much for your patience as we get the ball rolling. As you know, our CD RELEASE PARTY (12/10 @ The Watereway) and NEW YEARS EVE PARTY will be held in our hometown of fabulous YORK, PA at the Tourist Inn. Tickets are on sale. There will be many surprises for all! We are so excited for next year. I never thought, at 22, that I'd be here. Thanks to all of you, we made it to the beginning of something apocalyptic.... and "We're all in this thing together." HAPPY HOLIDAYS!Lzzy
