This is such a tough choice! I am very indecisive and almost couldnt decide between sad but true, november rain, dream on, lightning crashes, or whats up by 4 non blondes. I know Ill love any song they do.. because they are Halestorm and they rock! I cant wait to hear the cover!
I am going for Night Ranger's Don't Tell Me You Love Me for two reasons only.
1. Most of your 'target' audience of 20-somethings have never even HEARD of Night Ranger, so your version would be new and hot.
2. Your version would be NEW, HOT and you could ROCK IT so much harder than Night Ranger ever could have imagined, let alone accomplished.
Plus, a woman singing those lyrics right now - even hotter! You know you could make the guys listening to you sing want to run up to you and apologize for lying to every girl they ever said those words to.
Whatever you do - do NOT pick GAGA. She is GAG even if she's selling records. She isn't rock. She isn't hard-core. She doesn't get in your face and make you feel like scrapping. She makes me feel like throwing up like after a night of Jager. Metallica is not a good choice either. Queen - too campy. Cheap Trick - too scary to look at.
I agree with other posters though - why do a cover? Covers are popular right now, but you're so original that you don't need to revert to house band styles. Do your own stuff.
Oh, I think Bad Romance could be very, very interesting...especially with Lzzy's voice and attitude :)
But it was so difficult to vote, so many great choices on this list.
Ah these guys don't need to do covers. I would rather hear more original material thats the reason I love there music. But if this will get me flamed then I would have to pick Steelheart. Never let you go, if she has the balls to pull that off..... xoxo....
You Give Love A Bad Name would be killer.... heard them do Livin' On A Prayer once as a cover with Aranda ... it was so freakin bad ass... can't wait to see what they do...
Disappointed that Barracuda wasn't an option... I love running to that song & would love to hear it w/Lzzy's vocals... guess it's too much of a "been there, done that" thing since they've already covered a Heart song... bummer.
If you cover Bad Romance, my entire life will be complete. And I mean that. PLEASE. COVER. BAD ROMANCE.
Plus, it's a huge draw for new listeners...since it's 'the' current popular song that everyone has at least heard once somewhere.
You can make it a true metal song! BAD ROMANCE!!!
