A Letter to Dio
May 20, 2010
Dear Mr Ronnie James Dio,
I had just come off stage playing an Iowa Radio Fesival, when I got the news. My heart goes out to your family, and those closest to you.
We are all so saddened that Metal and Rock n Roll lost your triumphant, unearthly voice.
I wish that I could have shared the stage with you one more time, though I am extremely honered to be the last band to perform with you in Atlantic City, NJ on August 29 2009. I wanted to tell you that you have been such a huge influence. Since I was little, my family and I have lived in your records and videos. Getting the chance to meet you, and share the stage, was a dream come true. I was impressed not only by your voice, stamina, and enchantment on a crowd of Jersey Bikers and rowdy metalheads, but by how nice of a person you are. I don't think Ive ever met a more genuine, humble man in all my life. You made me feel like I've known you all my life. Ronnie, not only have you introduced me to the metal scene, and inspired me musically... But you have inspired me as a person. I hope that the young fans that I meet will get an equally satifying experience by meeting me, as I had when I met you. I know god was probably sayin' "why should the devil have all the good music", and so recruted you to teach the angels how to rock! Love you Dio, Rest In Peace.
